URLTO GUIDE

Link tracking is useful when it changes the next decision.

Short-link analytics can quickly show whether a campaign is getting attention, but a click count by itself is not a complete measurement of people or conversions.

Four useful signals

  • Total clicks: overall activity on the link
  • Recent trend: whether activity changed after a launch or post
  • Referrer: where available, which site or channel sent traffic
  • Device and browser: which environments deserve compatibility testing

Clicks are not the same as people

One person can click more than once, and link previews, security scanners or bots may request a URL. Treat clicks as link activity rather than a guaranteed unique-user count.

Pair short-link data with UTM

Short-link analytics tells you whether the short URL was requested. UTM parameters help the destination analytics system classify campaign traffic. Together they separate link activity from what happens after the visitor lands.

Collect only what you need

More raw data is not automatically better. URLTO does not store raw IP addresses as application click-analytics records and focuses its basic analytics on lightweight operational signals.
