10 guides
  1. 01

Prepare publishing text with deduplication and counts

Clean repeated lines and review characters, words and UTF-8 bytes before publishing. Understand whitespace, case sensitivity and emoji counting so the result fits your destination's rules.

  2. 02

Compare counts with and without whitespace on one input

The compact count excludes whitespace beyond ordinary spaces. Compare both values to investigate hidden whitespace.

  3. 03

Why character counts and UTF-8 bytes differ

Check byte-limited inputs separately. Equal-length Latin and Korean text can have different byte sizes.

  4. 04

Distinguish whitespace-separated counts from linguistic words

Words are split on whitespace after trimming. Text without spaces may count as one even if linguistically complex.

  5. 05

Check newline types and trailing empty lines

Lines are separated by newline characters. Distinguish actual newlines from visual wrapping.

  6. 06

When one visible emoji counts as several code points

Several code points can form one visible emoji. Distinguish icon count from the URLTO character count.

  7. 07

Compare precomposed é with a combined character

Visually similar text can contain different strings. Review code points when counts or duplicate matching differ.

  8. 08

Review hidden whitespace and newlines in copied text

Copied text can retain tabs, trailing spaces and newlines. Compare edits so needed structure is not removed.

  9. 09

Compare counts with a publishing service’s limits

Publishing services can count URLs, emoji and combinations differently. Check the target’s rules when figures differ.

  10. 10

Why character counts differ: Unicode, emoji and bytes

Compare visible characters, Unicode code points and UTF-8 bytes using values verified in the tool. Review emoji, whitespace, combining characters and line-matching behavior.
