Build an affiliate landing page: copy, links and launch checks

Prepare a useful decision page before publishing its short URL. This is an editorial design, not a real recommendation or sales result. Fill bracketed fields with verified facts and actual terms, and remove claims you cannot support.

1. Give the page one reader question

For a reader choosing an event-registration tool, possible criteria are device support, capacity, exports and cancellation terms. Explain reasons to choose or decline an option. Avoid presenting features you have not used as personal experience.

EvidenceOfficial documentation or actual test records

2. Check disclosure and program terms

Disclose economic relationships clearly where readers can recognize them. Check the applicable title or opening guidance for text posts and describe the actual commission, supplied product or payment. The sample is drafting guidance, not a universal legal form.

3. Draft the page visitors will read

Keep the title, explanation and button about the same offer. Explain who may not benefit. Date price or refund information and provide a seller verification path when terms can change. Avoid unverified lowest-price, best-performance or urgent-deadline claims.

4. Verify the two link stages separately

One distribution design is post → URLTO short URL → your landing page → official affiliate link → seller. An own-page step still needs review against the program’s channel, redirect and source rules. If unclear, describe the proposed structure to the program before publishing.

URLTO redirects send Referrer-Policy: no-referrer. Direct shortening to a seller can affect required source identification. Referrer handling on an outgoing link from your own page depends on that page’s policy and the browser environment, so inspect it separately. UTM does not automatically solve this.

  • Shorten the public landing-page URL and use the official affiliate link on its button
  • Preserve required affiliate identifiers, product values and signatures
  • Use navigation checks and permitted test tools; do not generate results through self-purchases

5. Put channel labels on your landing URL

UTM values label campaign traffic. Reporting requires analytics setup and collection; these labels do not replace an affiliate program’s settlement identifiers. The example uses an internal naming convention for an email button and QR poster. Check it against your analytics channel rules.

6. Pre-launch checks and completion criteria

A working public link does not prove purchase attribution or settlement. Keep the page version, check date and program evidence. If there are no purchases, use the companion ledger to establish which stages were actually observed.

6. Pre-launch checks and completion criteria
CheckPass condition
ContentEvidence, dates, limits and terms support a decision
DisclosureThe actual relationship is recognizable near the opening
Search and sharingDistinct title and description, canonical and intended indexing settings
Distribution linkFinal published button and printed QR reach the right public page
Seller buttonOfficial destination, required identifiers and program terms checked
MeasurementTest arrival and action observed, test records separated from results

7. Record revisions and close expired offers

Review the page and distribution links when the destination, commission relationship or offer terms change. Record the public code, page version, change time, owner and retest result. Clearly announce a closed or revised offer rather than silently replacing it with another product.
